Izzy turns 9

So this, like most of my posts lately, is a little late in coming but at least I'm finally getting it done. April 12th was Israel's birthday and poor guy-dad had to work, Wyatt was in track and basketball practice, so we postponed the celebration of just plain cake and ice cream for the following day. We did however get him the one present he wanted-a scooter-on his birthday. He was the happiest kid on the block that day. I also took him out to dinner, giving him options like Red Robin, Olive Garden, etc. but he chose Panda Express! Don't you love it when they keep it cheap and under 10 dollars? I sure do. The 13th we finally had his cake and ice cream with family only (I don't think I have the patience to have a bunch of 9 year old boys running around my house-I definitely know my limits for sanity). He specified that he did NOT want a fondant decorated cake "cause that stuff is nasty!" So we relied on good old Pillsbury to do the job. Once again...a boy happy with the simple things.

Reasons why I love this kid:
*he likes the simple things
*he is always so grateful
*he is always so kind
*he has the best smile that melts my heart (most days anyway)
*he LOVES his siblings and always watches out for Nyah and Tealani
*he holds the door open for everyone-and without having to ask him
*he is uniquely him.

Thanks for the invite, Casja!

I love all of the pictures of your cute kids. You seem like the most fun family, and I am so excited for you all to welcome this new little babe into your home and family. What a lucky little guy!

I loved reading about you meeting the birth mother. I will forever be amazed by the courage and the absolute selflessness that it must take for her and others like her to do what they're doing, and putting what's best for their baby above their own wants/needs. It is beautiful and so inspiring.

Congrats to you all!
