Tealani and Nyah
Here we are patiently waiting for the play to start. Israel with his sideways hat-I just don't get it. He never wears a cap the right way.
The play was done rather well, but Nyah half way through, turns to me and says "mom, I think Mowgli's a girl." She thought that was a little weird because Mowgli is supposed to be a boy after all. Wyatt just wanted King Louis to come out (I kept telling him it wasn't the Disney version) and sing "I Wanna be Like You". Now that would have been awesome.
All in all, the kids loved it and had a great time being grounded and having to "hang out" with mom and dad. Even Wyatt stopped complaining that he was bored. We are the coolest anyway so I don't see why they woudn't want to hang out with us all the time.
They got to meet the characters afterwards and thought it was cool. This is one of John's seniors who played Baloo the bear. He was hilarious.

The scripture study gone awry cracked me up. Too often I turn our "spiritual" times like FHE or Scrips into a mom rant. :) At least it got the house all cleaned up! :)
Glad to hear your 12-year-old is too cool for certain activities. We took the kids to the indoor pool at the YMCA last night for a "fun family activity" and Torby was too cool to get in the pool. I threatened him with being grounded the rest of the week (it's spring break so that would be really rough for him) and he finally BEGRUDGINGLY entered the waters. I also gave him some chores this week - he was cleaning the fridge for me when I left for work (whoop). The problem is that none of the other moms in the neighborhood seem to make their children help clean the house. I wish we were still neighbors so I wouldn't be the only MEAN mom on the block (wink)!
I´m glad to read that the kids are the same no matter here in Austria/Europe or over the big Ozean!
But at the other hand we wouldn´t have the chance to improve ourselves!miss you - take care another canvassed mom!
Sounds like your scripture study goes about like ours does. :( Oh-well, at-least we try!! :) Remind Nyah that when they made the first play of Peter Pan it was played by a woman. :) We are just very talented creatures!! :)
