Looking back at all my kids' baby pictures, they sure looked a little Asian. Anyway...It was Israel's birthday on the 12th of April so we did what we always do...stay home and celebrate. Well, John and I normally take them out for a special birthday dinner but John had so many meetings that week that it was put off for a few days. I had baked a cake earlier that morning, knowing how busy the schedule was, but Wyatt took it out of the oven too early and so it was a bit uncooked. I did not have the time to make another one with all the errands I had to run, so I ran to the store grabbed ice cream, oreos, and hot fudge and decided it was time to make my own version of DQ's ice cream cake. It was SO GOOD!! Now all the kids are requesting it for their birthdays.
Anyway...I can't believe how fast they grow...

He was addicted to movies and was always carrying around his "DVDVD's". Yep that's right, not just a DVD, but a "DVDVD". He always knew what DVD was new in our neighbors collection. He could spot it in minutes. She still gets a kick out of it whenever she remembers.
The FAnTaSTiC Mud Pie (I was told that it was a mud pie not an ice cream cake. Having never had a mud pie before, I would never have known).
Israel's big request this year was to get the
39 Clues series. All 10 of them. They only sell them hardbound which is not cheap, but they were worth every penny.
(update: now they sell them in paperback for $30 cheaper! Just my luck)
P.S. Ignore some of the talking. My battery was dying, mom, so I had to rush him through the present opening. We did read your card afterwards.

I didn't know that Israel liked to read. Is the 39 clues series good? How long did it take you to make the ice cream cake? I was thinking that is what I should do from now on too because the kids never eat the cake...only the ice cream. I bet it was yummy!
