Another Month...Gone

So another month has come and gone...Not too surprising. It was just so incredibly busy. Isn't August always that way?

It started off with the Trek (to be posted later)
Then came the Spokane to Sandpoint ragnar race (not it's not officially on the Ragnar series). A relay race that spans 185 miles split by 12 people. It was something that I wasn't sure I wanted to do but the ladies that were going were so awesome I couldn't resist going. Our teams name was Scrambled Legs and Achin' which everyone loved. My total distance was almost 10 miles...not too much which was perfect for me with all my leg problems. That being said though, IT.WAS.ROUGH!!! My first leg was at 12:30 in the afternoon high 80's low 90's and NO breeze whatsoever and 1 bottle of water for 3.7 miles. It was a gradual low grade climb with no shade and my feet went completely numb. Brutal. but I made it through with an okay time. The second leg for me would have been easy...had I not gotten lost...it was night, and the path was not marked clearly. Let's just say, I was not the only one. I guess that's what I get for following the guy and his pacer in front of me. The 3rd leg was the best although by then I was completely worn out with no sleep. But the air was still cool and it was morning. The best part of this race was riding tremors with the entire team at 2:30am.  I swear that coaster went faster at night. The moon was full, it was AWESOME!!! So cool that we went twice and I'm not a coaster rider but the adrenalin was what I needed after 2 legs of running. The gym floor we slept on...not comfortable but better than nothing.
Our van
Lisa, Julie, Cheree, Wendy, Darla, Sam
Rachel, Jen, Ashley, Heidi, Julie

Heidi's costume for her first leg.
Yep, these were used many times along the way.
Finishing my first leg. I was lucky I didn't pass out. I have never been so happy to hand over the "baton".
 Rachel Haertling and Jen Fielding
Sam Wright-she had the tattoo contest
Trying to get a nap in before our second leg. A fitness club let us take showers and get some rest while we could. Thank goodness for showers!
The second leg was the "glow in the dark" contest. Didn't matter how much I glowed I still couldn't see the signs telling me where to go.
exhausted after our second run.
 The first van DONE!
 Rachel and Wendy Beus.
The experience is one I won't forget. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Next time I'll be smaller and more prepared.

Next it was a trip to Denver to spend time with my incredibly wonderful sisters and mom. It was a week of relaxing, getting a Carribbean body wrap, and shopping at the local thrift stores for some great stuff, cheap! The end always comes too fast and I'm always wishing we lived closer. And next time, I'll actually break out my camera to get a new picture of my sisters and I. I love you guys!

Then of course there were some last minute visits to the Lybbert's pool before summer ends and school begins.

But that flew by and the next thing you know the kids were off to school. But no pix this year...maybe next. Tealani started at McGloughlin Middle School with her dad as the Principal. He's already embarassed her this year by taking this picture in the middle of her class the first day...

She thinks she's big time now. So much cooler than being in elementary school now. That's for the little ones. Definitely.

This year Nyah rides her bike with Korissa since Israel will be taking band, playing the trumpet like his sister. Every once in awhile I will walk them to school. Next year I'll do it everyday since Nyah will be the only one from the family that's in elementary, unless we go on multi-track...that's another story. But here they are...

Cute aren't they?

I think your Spokane to Sandpoint adventure looks so fun. In fact my friend that lives here did Hood to Coast, and she saw at that with this one you get to ride the Roller Coaster. So fun! I'm impressed. You go girl!
